Previously it has been reported that based on a recent photograph of director Atlee posing with an elderly couple in Social Mediathat the backdrop of this photo we can see many posters. These poster features Vijay and Motta Rajendran along with the Indian National flag and a flag of a fictional political party.The Poster have Vijay giving speech in front of a podium with multiple flags at the backdrop with some carrying the symbol of Jallikattu bull.

And it has been now assumed from the clue which Atlee gave, that Vijay contests in the Panchayat board elections in the film under the symbol of Jallikattu bull. While its still a confusion that Vijay plays a politician or a doctor who returns from abroad, the leaked photos from Mersal shooting spot had the name Maaran in it. And this made Vijay fans to assume that Maaran is Vijay’s name in Mersal. Team Mersal later confirmed this as true.
